Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty
The procedure
This procedure lifts the skin of the abdomen, retightens the muscles of the abdominal wall and repositions the belly button. It results in a horizontal scar located in the pubic region. The severity of scarring depends on the amount of skin and fat removed. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and patients can expect a stay of 2 to 3 days.
Mini Abdominoplasty
In intermediate cases where there is a moderate amount of excess skin, liposculpture is associated with an intervention on the muscles (for strengthening) and the skin. The incision is horizontal, short and made around the pubic area. The skin is then stretched down and tightened. Patients will be required to wear a compression garment for 2 weeks.
The procedure is performed under general or epidural anesthesia and a hospital stay of 24-48 hours is expected. Stitches are removed from the 8th to 10th day.
